This is my favorite salad dressing. I’ve tried many, from store-bought to straight up oil and vinegar. This one is derived from a classic Italian salad dressing, but with an extra seasoning kick.
The ingredients list is not short, but it’s pure and worth it to know exactly what you’re consuming. No need for preservatives. Occasionally, I double or triple the recipe because it stores well, and seems to improve over time.
I always have it on hand and love it on my favorite kale salad. It also doubles as a French bread dip, so don’t let those ends go to waste!
1 (about 5 tablespoons) lemon juice
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon honey
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
2 cloves (about 1 tablespoon) garlic, finely minced
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Combine all ingredients in a container with a lid and shake vigorously.
- Serve immediately or allow to set for best flavor
